About the School
St Bartholomew’s is a 21st century academy with a long and proud heritage. Many of the values that have shaped our successful past can be seen by visitors to the school today. Students are encouraged to value our community, maintain utmost personal integrity, and demonstrate high standards of behaviour and respect for others.
We combine this tradition with a modern, relevant approach to curriculum delivery and school improvement. As one of the top achieving schools nationally for English Baccalaureate, our academic curriculum offers breadth and imagination. We also offer a range of vocational pathways and are committed to providing students with personalised learning opportunities that allow them to reach their full potential. In addition, we offer an exceptional range of extra-curricular activities.
School is organised into a house system, providing a family atmosphere and strong basis for the school’s pastoral support. We encourage a lively blend of competition, charitable activities and exciting events to open up opportunities for students right across the school.
We are tremendously fortunate to have excellent facilities as part of the Building Schools for the Future Programme. The school benefits from new drama, dance and music studios, IT and media suites, as well as specialist design and science provision. We also have a fantastic new floodlit all-weather pitch – supporting a wide range of sporting opportunities.
